ARCHIVE DE LLANÇA. ​My first attempt in the Architecture business, starts on a Competition of Ideas that results in this instalation or Poject, in the sector of Public Buildings, passing later to Private issues, like Small Villas and Houses.

 Under the umbrella of Markus Lauber and Cristina Fernandez, the double that gives caracter to LABBHOME Architecture company, situaded in Barcelona, I iniciate and try my first idea competition, for the small Village of Llança, Girona, in the Southeast Coast of Barcelona, known as COSTA BRAVA.

 This new building, situated very closer of the historic center, will contain the new Municipal Archive, with the stories, analysis and studies of this place but also the various similar places like that, spreaded by the region of COSTA BRAVA. Because of it´s strong sea/earth relation we tryed an approach, in terms of form, materials and sensations generated by this elements to this new building.
 So, littary, we studiy and analyse the boats, fishing materials, and with a balance and equilibrate thinking we create the "CONTRAPÉS" concept.
 A recreation from the essence of the skeleton of a ship, that we take just like we saw to the struture of the building, with the balance between vertical and horizontal lines that gives functionality, similar silhuette, materials to give the natural performance of the building, we manage to reach a result very unique and uncommom to this remote places, but fortunately, shows the all essence of the place and also characterizes the people that gives the distints personality, originally in this kide of places.

 

Finally, with this unusual and new approach for our team, we accomplished a bulding, not just, that recreated, as refreshed a new bond from the Historic Center of the village, creating new visual enviroments with/and the surrondings, by their new squares and public spaces that surrond our building, but at the same time, invite the people to enter and explore this new element, with a double use, of storage and reastablish the bond of the Historic Center with the continuous
development of the surroundings of this typical COSTA BRAVA village.
