AMBULATORY C.A.P. SANT CUGAT. Based on the Ancient America Aborigenes and his straigt relation with mother Nature, and understand how certain forms, elements and enviroments still influences our behaviours and sensations.

The program was treat in the most natural, but also in a very "primitive" way. Because it´s main propose is the treatement and care of people in all kide of shapes or illnesses. So we choose this element, the "TOTEM", an Ancient artfact, as a symbol of Family or a Clan, as at the same time gives the sensation and hope of being protected and part of a Comunity or Society.

At the same time we want to give to this new buiding a strong, volume shape and aspect of fortress, where people can go and feel safe and confortable in there, as a family, as a group, and not only with the primary aim of addressing their problem, which is the main use of this new building.

The volumetry of the building at its highest point corresponds to the outside square in elevation, a volume that attracts the audience to its interior marking its entry by a longitudinal tear about two and a half feet to three feet from the ground, so creating a visual tension while gives character to the building. This longitudinal tears or cuts, defines a boundary between indoor and outdoor playing by its shape, which brings up the patios that give rise to waiting rooms and passageways inside the building while abroad gives rise to terraces and living spaces facing the surroundings of the public spaces created by the building, in addition to the change of materiality, concrete on the outside and various types of wood in the interior, that characterizes these same spaces.

Finally, this constant game between, Shape, Exterior and Interior Limit, materials and Volume / Void create a single, original, unique, sustainable

and ventilate building.
